Rumors and rumblings have been circulating for a bit about a new Casa Fernandez cigar set for release after IPCPR 2014, but I have just this week seen some pictures….of the packaging, anyway. The images below were posted to the company’s Facebook and Instagram profiles earlier, and I thought I’d share. As regular readers probably already know, I’m a regular Casa Fernandez smoker – or most any AGANORSA-containing blends, for that matter. It’s always exciting for me to see new CF blends.
The company has already announced a number of changes, including a “box pressed, amped up version of the JFR” (Just For Retailers) and the 2014 edition of the Casa Fernandez Aniversario. These most recent pictures feature a few details about a new release for the show, the Arsenio Serie Oro, a blend variation on the existing Arsenio, which is available in Corojo and Maduro at present. In addition to the name, captions from the pictures reveal a number of items concerning the blend. It will be produced in boxes of twenty, box pressed cigars. I am making an assumption here, but the vitolas were simply described by ring: 52, 54, and 60. My assumption is that this will be a parejo. The blend is only described as a “100% Nicaraguan puro,” but will be rolled at Tabacalera Tropical operations in Miami.
