Felix Assouline
Felix Assouline was a completely new name to me this year. Had I not been walking down an aisle and run into my friend Benny Gomez I might not have even made it to the booth. Benny, of Havana Sunrise fame, has partnered up with them to field the brand. They are introducing four brands this year, detailed below.
Ego – This is a full flavored line, comprised of tobaccos from Jamastran, Jalapa, and Indonesia They come in a 5″X52 perfecto, 6.5″X58 torpedo, or a 5″X24 “EGO Shot” for when you have limited time.
Something Special – The Something Special line is box pressed, and per Felix are medium to full bodied – and at an affordable price. It is offered in a variety of sizes, ranging from Elegant 5.5″X44, Virtuoso 6.5″X54, Majestic 6.5″X58 to the Exquisit 6.5″X58 torpedo. These come packed in cedar boxes of 50.
Havana Sunrise Reserve – Havana Sunrise is a medium to full bodied cigar, available in 5 vitolas. They contain tobacco from Honduras, Nicaragua and Indonesia, and come in boxes of 30. I’m not clear how much reblending has been done with the Havana Sunrise, but I was a fan of the existing line and have high hopes for anything new.
Ringo – The Ringo is presented with Western themed packaging, and is medium to full in flavor. Of particular note is the Ringo Colt, a 6.5″X38 lonsdale.
These are completely new to me – depending on any present changes in the Havana Sunrise blend. Again, I have some to try and will report back once they have rested appropriately.
