When you walk around everywhere, do you ever really shut your brain off to architecture and related issues, or are you like me and notice everything about the trade you call your own ?
So many times in Cuba I was like "hmmm, interesting, a ductless split AC system from China. Never seen one of those before. Where are they pulling power from, and where does it drain ?"

Let me put it to you this way: I try to figure out a layout to Kip's house every time we share video. Creepy, in a "professional" sort of way. I'm just relieved my profession isn't an undertaker.Zedman05 wrote:Wow....just..............wow.kurtdesign1 wrote:I'm assuming what I see is an operable opaque transom but my initial thought Stew was an additional operable 12" for that door behind him...

In all seriousness, people tend to passively harass me for my "lazy" tendencies on a regular basis. My preference is to do things I truly enjoy; always. To me, that's not something to be ashamed of. To society, that's not what good little "consumers", who are defined by their profession and possessions, are supposed to want. We're supposed to be a workaholic who doesn't understand what enough means. I enjoy my training, my current facet of the industry and all the passion that I take with me. When people think I'm lazy because I like an hour with my thoughts and a cup of coffee, I don't think they understand that my thoughts do not share that specific physical appearance.Zedman05 wrote:Wow....just..............wow.kurtdesign1 wrote:I'm assuming what I see is an operable opaque transom but my initial thought Stew was an additional operable 12" for that door behind him...

I enjoy my life. I live in the moment and do not understand how others can always survive to one day thrive. Live now, love everything. Find joy everywhere. Realize that nothing, not. a. single. thing. is created without thought and inspiration and creation. There's intrigue there and beauty and passion. Find that and nothing will be boring and you'll never be devoid of thought.
The next time you see someone "not working", make sure they're not really running a mental marathon.

Post Script: The genius who invents interior, opaque, operable transoms will win the construction industry for the upcoming millennial custom home boom. They want to be alone in a closed room yet circulation and comfort tend to suffer in improperly built homes. Provide a transom that balances interior pressures while allowing an air exchange and shielded ambient hall light to stay out; genius. Amado is a trend setter, probably only due to necessity.

I do the exact same thing, to be honest. Trying to figure out how that is a patio area/not inside the house with the railing beside him/looks like his living room/omg I need to stop being neurotic....kurtdesign1 wrote:Let me put it to you this way: I try to figure out a layout to Kip's house every time we share video. Oh, I know ! I have been stating that point for 3 years now ! If only transoms and ransoms could get together and live in harmony we could have an opaque world in which European Swallows can carry coconuts over the Atlantic...kurtdesign1 wrote:Post Script: The genius who invents interior, opaque, operable transoms will win the construction industry for the upcoming millennial custom home boom. Yeah...I'm pretty sure that "transom" came about because the hole was too big for how much door they had....

No doubt about that. There doesn't seem to be a bit of normal anywhere in the Caribbean (Colin Ganley's definition of the Caribbean, which includes the Gulf bordering areas).Kip wrote:Yeah...I'm pretty sure that "transom" came about because the hole was too big for how much door they had....
