There's got to be some mid-70s R&B or Soul song that would be the perfect background music to your post. GOTTA.

I was listening to Stogie Geeks the other day and they were having an interesting talk about Ernie Carrillo and his brands. There's no denying what Ernie has done for the cigar industry; even in my young cigar smoking age you know from sitting and listening to the seasoned vets that he's one of best there's ever been. But it seems, and Coop brought up a good point, that HIS cigars don't do as well as the cigars that he makes for other people. It's ironic really. I think he has some solid offerings, namely the New Wave, Cardinal's, Historia, and my favorite EPC cigar ever, the EL 2011 (which I have one more of). But it seems that's all they are: solid offerings. Well, tonight I'm enjoying an EL 2013; pepper, earth, over-roasted coffee, leather and touch of sweetness here and there. I also bought two boxes of Cardinals: Maduro and Natural in the 52, and this is the celebratory cigar for that! Image

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

I've been saying that about EPC since the Four Kicks first hit the market. I'd say the same about JdN - they just do a good job of keeping a secret about who they make cigars for.

I've tried a number of my "regular blends" without wrappers now, and I've yet to find one that wasn't pretty good that way. Maybe I'll just start saving even more on cigars and do away with wrappers. At least, keep a good supply of "naked" sticks on hand.

Also too a page out of Craig's book. This is the wrapper I took off the EPC Oscuro I had a couple nights ago. I like this a lot better this way than when it was on the cigar. Too bad that it lasted only about 4 minutes.
