Re: World domination...
As for the status of the Peruvian leaf's availability, I had only been able to get it through otoaocigars.com, but they stopped carrying it by early 2013. They also now seem to be completely out of the entire whole leaf sales arena.

On another note, one of the more practical, but still cool, aspects of rolling your own cigar is that not only do you control the blends, but you can also tailor make the size to fit certain durations. I have a 40-45 drive home from teaching twice a week and these "coronito-ish"/demilances are perfect for the journey. Or, for tonight, as a short, warm-up cigar before I tackle a more potent stick.

That is a very appealing option. I would probably try a truly short demi-lance; like 3", 3-1/4". Perlas (4"x40) easily last me 45 minutes. easily. A little shorter and a little narrower would be perfect for the break.

Trying to decide on a suitable wrapper for a blend of Honduran fillers. Ecuador shade, corojo, and brand new to me, Nicaraguan wrappers here, a couple more later.

Re: World domination...
The final sets (probably) of rolling for 2015. The ones without bands had wrappers put on this AM. These cigars are a blend and wrapper combo that I chose from the "great wrapper experiment" - Nicaraguan seco, Cameroon seco, and Brazilian mata fina fillers inside a Dominican binder and Corojo wrapper. My "official" total (not including one-offs and experiments) was 1047 cigars rolled, easily making my self-imposed goal for the year. I don't think I'll set one for 2016 unless I happen to get a greatly expanded office area and LARGE humidor for Christmas. I doubt that's gonna happen, so... Merry holidays, everyone, and smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

Re: World domination...
It's tobacco leaf inventory re-storage time. For the past 3 years, I've kept my dry leaf in a large 2x2x4 box, but increasing leaf variety and amounts have made accessing the leaf from that box difficult. Now they'll be stored in separate, labeled plastic boxes. (i know... that's very exciting to everyone.) The other picture is looking into the old box, where, for a couple of years, I tossed the cut ends from the rolled cigars. If my 6"x 6" sample square is typical, there were the rolled, cut ends of over 1200 cigars. And that doesn't account for the vast amount of small, shredded leaf that undoubtedly came from another couple hundred or so. Whee.
