Re: Cigarro del dia - numero cinco
Now, I just know you guys are all wondering "where are Stew's cigar of the day pics?" It's been four days since I posted here. Shocking, right? Well, between the temperature being in the low single digits at the end of the weekend and the onset of some intestinal weirdness the past two days, it's now fully been 3 and 1/2 days since I've had a cigar. I don't know how many years it's been since that happened, but several. I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms... MAKE IT STOOOPPPPPP!

Re: Cigarro del dia - numero cinco
I waited four days for this? I first smoked this cigar a month ago and didn't find it very appealing. Tried another today and while it does have a unique flavor profile, it's still just not a very good one. No can recommend...

Cigarro del dia - numero cinco
EP has fallen off for me, too. I used to smoke the Cardinal's religiously, man; any chance I could get to burn the 52, I would. Like Kip's post on another topic, it fell out of favor with my palate.Stewmuse wrote:I waited four days for this? I first smoked this cigar a month ago and didn't find it very appealing. Although, I still like the OG New Wave Conny.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

Back at House Blend RD. I continue to be impressed. Excellent humidor choices. There isn't much in their inventory that I wouldn't happily keep in mine. Pricing is decent - which means fantastic for Santiago. Quite a few brands I've never even seen elsewhere in the Dominican Republic. I'm having one of the new El Gueguense. Pretty pricy, and out of my normal reach for frequent smoking, but exceptional. I dig it.

I was getting concerned, after my 4-day hiatus, the cigars I was smoking weren't getting it done. Some tried and true ones were even falling short. This was the first really enjoyable one. The maduro wrapper on my Nicaraguan sticks really played well with the internals.

That was a nice store - fine seats, great cigars at good prices, friendly host. Hope it stays open for a LONG time. At least, anyway, until my next visit!Kip wrote:Back at House Blend RD. Last nights Delights.
CoRo July '13
Started off bland and uneventful but worked its way into a rich vanilla bean, grassy, cream ladden cigar. I liked the finish, but I mean it didn't wow me like in the past. Just not my thing right now, especially for the mkney.
I know these are vest 5+ years in, but I should have an idea if I like them or not already.

Lat Tradicion Cubana Corona
Like I said in chat last night, I would try one again. The connie wrapper on these just puts me off a bit. I am not a huge fan of the sharpness these exibit. The flavors aren't bad, but these aren't a cigar I reach for first. Great change up cigar or end the night cigar though as that sharpness cuts through anything else previously smoked.
