There was a newspaper article a couple weeks ago where a Santo Domingo (the capital) sewage backup was caused by a car engine and a chair that clogged up the works...

How the you-know-what do you flush a car engine OR a chair???

Or how does either one of those get into and out of your body??? Man!

Actually, I've heard before of them doing an "engine flush" at Jiffy Lube. I never thought that this is what that meant! :-) :-)

After the recent allegations that the government was artificially keeping gas prices too high (the gov't sets the price here), they continue to drop. It's now down to 164.9 pesos (about $3.66 US). When we moved here less than 6 months ago, it was 237 pesos ($5.27 US). Very welcome, when the roads and steep mountain driving kill yer MPG...
