Big day. Got some "rustic" - home made - cigars from a colmado in the mountains. I'll let you know how that goes if I survive.

Going to an Águilas (Dominican baseball team) game tonight. I understand you can even have a cigar in the stadium....

...sent by smoke signal from Cigar Country
White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise....

I rolled a little over 200 test blend cigars this year across 63 different combinations. I'm down to my final 8-10 test cigars. Some were quite good, most pretty average, and a few sucked. This is one is... fine. But not a keeper.

Oh, I know all about "rustic" looking cigars. Fortunately, they sometimes can still smoke pretty darn well!

Magnificently blended Connecticut but you definitely still taste it. Edges are cut off of the crispness and its decidedly Padron. Mild/Med, fast burning (maybe an hour & 10 for me). Dare I say buttery flavor? Bold soft flavors. Not understated. Not my favorite but very good. I think 46x6" roughly.

Tonights Delight.

H Upmann Noella re-release
These are my first Noella. I had heard so much about those infamous '09's, but never got ahold of a jar. Here we are a few years after the re-release; let's see if they are worth putting on the list for the November and January trips.

These were *literally* 5¢ cigars. Well, 2 peso cigars, bur that's about 5 cents....I'm not exactly holding out hope of finding a new favorite.

.05??? How does one do that? Are processed tobacco leaves just raining down from the sky in the DR? I guess these really would be sun grown leaves.
