I find myself reaching for a pipe more often lately, in an effort to conserve and manage the humidor. This old GBD has been through a lot. It violates all known laws of physics by how dry it smokes with an empty filter pocket in the shank. It's value is very little in monetary terms, but it's a gem of a pipe. One of my favorites.

This is a pretty unique cigar, of which I only have about 16, and may never have the opportunity to make again. I've found some tobaccos from Whole Leaf Tobacco that no one else seems to carry. One was flojo ("flying") viso from Paraguay, named so because it's a very long and slender leaf. They've not had it in over a year, now, and when I asked about it, they had no info about when they would get it again. It is a fine addition to the Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers it accompanies in this cigar. The band, "Sleepy Hollow," is another of the ones I got off eBay.

Well, dang. First, the Ecuador, then the American Barrel Aged, and now, the Connecticut. Camach has really turned things around the past two years. This is a light, but very flavorful cigar, and I'm not a big Connecticut wrapper fan. Very well done.

Re: Cigar O' the Day numero cuatro....
Visited the TLJohnson factory today (which is exactly 2 miles from my house....be jealous). The below image is the first of four different cigars I tried out, but I don't think I can yet disclose what it is destined to be.
All were good - although they weren't even finished with the aging time in the escaparate. One stood out as wondertastic - the regular line he's making for Tarazona. I found it far better than any of the past offerings from Tarazona when their production was elsewhere. That one was actually rolled this morning. Unless something goes haywire during the holding time before shipment, I imagine they will be spectacular.

Sunny, 72, calm, first NFL Sunday, and just finished a big family meal. Perfect time for a full bodied cigar (are you taking notes, Ian?). Um... Colts? I know. They're still gonna win 10 games more than the Bears this season...
