I was summoned to drive 150 miles to meet my boss because "we need to chat" this morning. I don't have any expectation this will be a good meeting, so I figured I'd at least smoke well on the way....

Because it's still early and we don't know anything yet I can still make fun of you without being "that guy", so... Dude, gloves in a car with heat? It was -10 this morning and I drove to work without gloves on. Do you even have circulation? Is this from the tumor?

It was 37 this morning. I crack 2 Windows when driving and smoking. I'm cold-blooded. I have a tumor. I live in Florida. I'm old.

One of those ought to cover it.

Why do you crack two windows ? That just seems to cause a turbulance factor in all the vehicles I smoke in. I usually just crack the drivers window and turn the fan up, keeping the fan setting at floor and windshield, then turn the fan speed up a bit. It drags the smoke out that window quiet effectively for me. I can barely tell that I have had a cigar in there, in fact I used to smoke in my truck on the driveway in the winter a couple years ago when it started getting cold out, and had no issues with smell. The faster down the road you go, the smaller the window has to be open, the slower you go, the more the window needs to be open. I have found that even 2" is enough when driving around town slowly.

My work vehicle is a ragged out 2003 Toyota Corolla. Its driver window is broken. When I inquired about fixing it, I learned that Toyota - instead of building simple electric window armature like tens of millions of other cars - built some kind of wonder assembly that would cost me $850 instead of the typical $100 when I've had similar issue in the past. Not wanting to invest $850 in a $12-1500 car, I just disconnected it.

Now, when I have a cigar in there, I crack both windows on the passenger side (rear slightly more opened) . This creates a vortex wherein wind comes in the rear, across the rear seat, up to the front on the driver side, and back across and out the front passenger window. It's extremely effective at removing the smoke.....but very cold when the temps are low.

The turbulence in that car is peculiar. If I have only one window down - or worse yet both rear windows - it causes a loud "roar" that makes for an unbearable ride.

Oh wow, can I ever go places with this story...but all I will say is that it sucks to have a broken window problem when you are a smoker. Do you roll the passenger window down, reach with your body across the car, and flick your ashes in hopes that they get sucked outside instead of on the immaculate upholstry ?
I had to fabricate the plastic brackets for three of my 4 windows for my dakota. I have kids that think its fjn to try to roll a window down many times when the glass is frozen to the rubber, hence breaking anything plastic associated with the window accessories.
Sounds like you have it all covered, other than the crappy situation of cold air coming from around back, that sucks.
