@kurtdesign1 does this have some age on it? It's super smooth.

That is from the very first shipment of that cigar ever produced. It was a gift from the factory.

Meh, wasn't worth the hassle of searching out. Basic, normal tobacco flavors that I could have gotten from a General product. Glad I have 2 more left to try and see if it was a one-off.

I am a huge Le Hoyo fan. The 03 du Roi is the best single box of Hoyos I've ever had. The other larger vitolas never produced the same intensity and sweet woody flavors that the Roi & gourmet (sp?) do. Don't give up on them, though they're nearly extinct these days and they probably won't stand up to a lot of time unless kept perfectly. I'd say 15 years would be the oldest I'd purchase unless I trusted the source's storage 100%. I'm not talking about authenticity. I'm strictly saying that you know they've been in X conditions for Y period of time, and that those variables are to your liking.

A bit of a celebratory cigar for a worthy week. This cigar has been with me for nearly 10 years in a plastic bag in my singles drawer. It is past its prime but still flavorful. A tart, almost astringent citrus flavor was present in the 1st third. A beautiful tobacco sweetness only found in Partagas' was a secondary flavor in the 2nd third and the final is sweet & smokey. It's almost like burning green wood that has some aromatic qualities to it. It is mild with good body and a good burn. By Kip's model I'd say it scores a 90, perhaps an 89 due to a few wrapper defects that blossomed out and required touchups. If it would not have been torn prior to lighting, I think these would not have existed.

Tonights Delight.
1- Vegas Robaina Classico Feb '12
Gifted to me by a good BOTL. These were part of the last year of production. I read a bunch lately about them, as I have been searching out Lonsdales for a little while now. These have had a reputation in their last few years of bad construction issues. I cannot use a broad generalization, but with mine, it fir the bill. Pretty tight draw. Flavors were just ok. I will not be buying any of these. I was expecting more earthiness and coffee from a VR.

2- Robaina Farmie Corona Gorda '14
These are young, but I was told that I needed to smoke this too right away before the sick period hit.
Will report back once done as Craig's Robaina Farmie from a couple weeks ago piqued my interest, and I have never had an enjoyable one yet.

The VR Farmie was woefully underfilled, causing the wrapper to never burn as the filler would tunnel like a mother f......yeah. Flavors were a bit better than all the others I have had. I had to squish it into some sort of an "Oval" like shape 1/3 of the way through to get it to smoke without going out after every puff. It ended up being an ovaled 1/4" thick cigar, thats how underfilled it was. The flavors in a tiny section of the last 1/4 came and went as fast as you can pick them out, but I did get a fleeting flash of absolute tobacco brilliance.
I am so glad I do not search these out, I have had nothing but negative flavor experiences and now one of the worst construction issues ever.
.....Epic Fail >_< hahaha
