Re: Cigar(s) O' the Day
I'm leaning toward this being the case. The one I was smoking did indeed come from a big e-tailer. However, I just had a GH2 (another bigbox e-tailer special) which was great. So much so that moments ago I ordered a bundle....20 of them for $26. If they're all as good as this one, I'll be a happy camper. And, a bit surprised.kurtdesign1 wrote:I can only speculate but it's widely been thought that brands like RP or CAO have changed their blends for mailorder. The "damage" above reasonably could be attributed to the same thing. Ian commented that the last "bundle" he had was "inconsistent at best". I'd be willing to bet that bundle came from CI or some sort of secondary market initially sourced from CI.
GH's talent is great. That's why I had private label cigars with them. I think they (the entire company) were in a bit of a funk and are now emerging. The Deli, "STK" releases and a few recent production products I've sourced from the factory have all been stellar. It may be time to revisit them in 2015 if you've had bad luck. I'm pretty sure things will be turning around.

I sure hope GH turns a corner in 2015. And you're right, the inconsistent bundle was from CI, my second actually, and it was markedly different from the first.

What do you think of those Tat Black, @TomD ? I'm a huge fan, and they're probably my very favorite Tat at the moment.

Continuing with the Gran Habano theme, this #3 is killing it tonight. Very tasty....
