Oof. A full stomach from a big, German-style meal, and now i need a bold cigar. Caldwell Eastern Standard. This will do. It has a great retrohale, too.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

This weekends Delights.

-Upmann Mag 50

Really good right now.

-Blind tasting herf stick #1

This is the same stick I gave to Kip and Kurt Jan of '17 for the unbanded on the show, so I cannot disclose what it is. Was a fun time smoming these and hearing reactions. Mqybe one day the hosts of this show will get to the unbanded ....... one year......

-Ezra Zion

A friend gifted this to me at the herf, so I finished with it. Great cigar. Would smoke again for sure.

-Alex Gonzalez Dalia Jun '17

This is one of my desert island 3 cigars I would select. Just right for my palate....

-Tat Noella Reserva 2013 Re-release

My last of the singles. Seeing if I should open the box I have sealed now. Meh, it was ok. A lot of sweetness, and smooth tobacco, but not a ton of much else.

-Upmann Connie 1 Oct '15

This was a first from the box. I am very happy already, if this is what the rest of the box is working with. Great cigar for being so young. Good enough to nub the shit out of it ! ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Cuban Robaina torpedo. A decent, but not outstanding, cigar. Starts off fairly mild and builds a little, but never becomes strong or harsh. Like the Cohiba from a few days ago, the retrohale is more pleasing/interesting than just mouth blowing.

With age, they mellow out a bit and become more smooth. This is the aging process that collectors look for. You dont have the issues with biting, newer tobacco.

Another night-time session in the garage with trumpet, movie stuffs, and a cigar. This time a Casa de William (Kip's cohort in the DR who has cigars made for his small home store. Pretty good, stronger than most Dominican cigars I've had. Definitely worth the $2.00 price tag.

Not to be a horn tooter (well, except when mine is actually on my face), but of the three cigars i started with the past three nights, mine is the clear-cut winner. The Nestor Miranda Dominicano is a pretty tasteless dog rocket, the Fuente corona was decent but slow in developing, and my Bahia is really darn good. Just sayin...

I'm surprised there was anything left in that Fuente. It looks like a Don Carlos #3....which is great. However, it has the old band. That puts it pre-2011. Being a milder cigar to begin with, they can definitely go flat after 7 years.
