Re: Cigarro del dia - numero siete
Man. Fired this up last night, after first having a quick, medium strength colmado ciagr, and got... Nothing. For the first 1/4-1/2". Couldn't even taste it. Extremely mild. That said, about halfway through, it became very enjoyable (having finally lost the colmado residue?). Looking verymuch forward to this being a first cigar of the day.

That looks like either a Coronas Especial or a Siglo III. Any idea? Where'd you snag it?

Jesus Fuego 22* North x 83* West, which are, roughly, the coordinates of Havana, Cuba. Not a bad cigar, at all, and is on the mild side. Even the retrohale does little to irritate. Right about 6x48. Also the name of a fairly well-known big band tune written after this band's visits there in the fifties...

A balmy 40 degrees tonight which makes cigars in the garage an easy "do." Paired these guys with a late 60's horror pic called "Spider Baby." Has nothng to do with babies, but definitely some spiders. For its time, a pretty good film, including Lon Chaney, Jr.and a very young Sid Haig, who was the creepy, clown-dressed store owner (Captain Spaulding) in Rob Zombie's "House of a 1000 Corpses."

Lit up one of the gringo on safari that mike made me in a corona size. These have mellowed out into a nice morning/working projects cigar. Nice sweet spice on the retro and no sign of that velvet hammer of nicotine the blend initially had.
Also to those in southern locals that white stuff all over the place is not sand.. it is what is called SNOW.

Another decent evening with a good, solid smoke. Steady burn, rich flavor throughout.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

Last Nights Delight.
Monte No.2 Jun '08
What a difference 10 years makes. Butter and cream ! No harshness at all. Could retrohale the entire mouthful if wanted. I have never had a Monte 2 that had buttery characteristics. Not sure if that was blending or age, but it was very good. Makes me excited about the rest of my stuff that is aging.
To rate this against a newer, lets say 3 year old Monte 2, I would give this one a 94/95 and the latter a 92/93.
