Half Ashed live?

Ask us about or recommend show cigars, guests, segments, topics, stupid things we've said, etc. You can even just tell us we suck here...

Hey Kurt; I did mention in Mikes Dominican trip post that I would be in Cuba. You mentioned on the show that I was lacking. I wonder some times if it is better not to mention it, as it may come across as arrogant or pretentious. I have been really lucky over the last few years, and been a bunch. Didn't want to make a big deal of it, so that is why it was only a small, mostly unnoticed, post.
Be back in a few days .... with some rum ;)
Nope, Nada, No. Never has it been taken the wrong way. Nothing more than the humorous jabs of a friend. That said, I sincerely missed it in Mike's trip thread. I thought you were keeping it from us intentionally! And if you see this before you are without internet, I hope you keep an open mind when choosing that rum. New experiences are always more fun! ;)
One Xtra large jug of Kraken for our friend Kurt then! ;) Also I apologize for missing the show, Friday I came down with a severe case of the punys.. still sick as of this posting

BTW the Diesel coronas Mike mentioned on the show that seem to only go on special around Christmas at CI? Those are coronas of the original Unholy Cocktail blend. They do sell a Robusto year round now so maybe one day the corona will be an offering as well.

Did you like the rum I got last time ? Not sure what I am buying this trip, so input would be good. I may have enough for another bottle, if you are interested. Let me know what you want, and I will let you know when I get home if I got it or not. Then we can make.....a deal you cannot refuse....

The last bottle was a little too harsh for me. I prefer sweeter and/or older

So I missed last weeks show. Working :(
I am listening to the podcast now, and Kert said the bottom of Kip's humidor is the driest as humidity rises. I believe the heavier, moist air sinks. The bottom is always the most dense, humid air. I know with my own humidors that the bovedas in the bottom always last at least twice as long as the ones at the top.
Just some food for thought.

Here's a brief summary of how dry air is heavier than humid air....

Very informative. But what I take away is toward the end of the article where it demonstrates the actual difference is so miniscule that it can't really matter in a space anywhere near as small as even the largest of humidors.

Yeah, but just ask a plumber how much difference a tiny little gradient can make :)

Well, if you want to keep crap (cigars) in your humidor, go right ahead!

1. Hot on the left.
2. Cold on the right.
3. Sh*t flows downhill.

Boom, you're a plumber.

I think that's an improper assumption. Static spaces would pretty quickly regulate themselves. The weight seems minuscule to us but in comparison, that is a pretty large variation. I have no evidence to back up speed but have noted in my own 4' high cabinet that this occurs pretty shortly after the door is shut. (less than 12 hours)
