Half Ashed Unbanded (?)

Smoking one of the cigars I sent out for unbanded just to see what these are like. Lets hope I am not sending out duds.

I hope your wallet falls out of your pocket due to all that extra cash spewing out....those are not cheap my friend.
Still have yet to have one, but I have a hard time when cigars are that expensive. It is almost like stage fright.
Agreed, I wouldn't pay this much for very many, but having said that I am more than willing to buy a box

Last nights Delight.

Pepin JJ Maduro Robusto '08

The last of its kind. Like Kip says "every day is a good day to smoke a good cigar".
They did this blend right, back then. Wonderful finish. Wish I had more. Loads of chocolate in these still.

Had another of the campo cigars Kip and I have talked about. This one was REALLY very good. A little thicker than most, and lots of steady, smooth flavor. Best 5 cents I've ever spent!

Stay smokey, my friends.

I've not had these but the originals (in 07?) were a balanced mix of Monte and Upmann. Have they maintained the blend?

I might have to just cave and buy a box of these already. If I had to rank my top three Connecticuts in the last year or so, it's this at one, Perdomo Small Batch at two, and the AJF New World Conn at three.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

I didn't fuck around with my cigars in the aughts. I don't think there was one released that I didn't sample and decide to buy or not. The lone exception being the 2000 Edicion Limitadas. I ended up trying them all (including the rarely discussed Particulares) but it took years and I really only had a soft spot for the Romeos. Unfortunately, I never found a box to buy. My habits changed around 2009. For the better, most definitely. Unfortunately I would have loved for that indulgence to continue through the present. Since this rat hole is continuing beyond where I expected, the notables are as follows:
-2005 Ramon Allones Eminencias RE Suiza
-2004 VR Jubes para 5th Ave
-2006 Partagas Coronas - Every single box of regular production were breathtaking
-2001 Cohiba Lanceros Revisado - In 2004 (?) a large cache of revisado boxes of these were released. They were, quite simply, the greatest Cohibas I ever had the opportunity to smoke.
-2006 Diplomatic #2 - The best "Montecristos" I've ever smoked. Consistantly
-2002 Ramon Allones 898 - I bought these in 2004 because, wait for it, I liked the size. Little did I know I stumbled upon a white whale cigar of immeasurable quality. I gave one to Pete Johnson in 2011 and his response was something like (paraphrasing) I wish I could still get cigars like this.
2002 Bolivar Corona Gigante cabinet - These cigars had the most clean and longest lasting finish I've ever experienced. 12 hours+
2005 "Toboada" Dom Perignon blend - There's a lot of history about these cigars but without getting into their provenance, these cigars were blended to taste like Cuban Davidoffs. To my palate they hit a home run. Unfreakingbelievable. Too bad they can never be repeated.

What I wouldn't give to be able to smoke any of these again. I have one Eminencia left of them all. One.

Over the past two years I have taken that direction in what I want to smoke. A lot of it is also the simple fact of tracking them down and finding them, but truest they are fantastic smokes 99%percent of the time. I wish I had been into cigars in th early 2000s, but given the fact that it meant I would have been an 8 year old smoking cigars I don't thing it would have been a great idea.
I have had one of the RA RE Italia 2005 which was fantastic absolutely fantastic and an 898 2014 phenomenal as well.
