News: Organizational Changes within Joya de Nicaragua

News of some organizational changes and executive appointments emerged from Joya de Nicaragua today in the midst of celebrating its 45th anniversary.  A series of executive changes were detailed in a letter from Chairman and CEO Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca earlier this afternoon.  Dr. Cuenca will continue as Chairman and CEO of Joya de Nicaragua S.A.; additionally, the Board of Directors has elected Mr. Juan Ignacio Martínez as Executive President, responsible for overseeing day-to-day production and marketing issues.  Mr. Martínez has been with Joya de Nicaragua for almost six years, involved in strategic management of the company.

The second board appointment was of Mr. Ivan Gutierrez as Deputy Marketing Director.  In this capacity, Ivan will work closely with Mario Perez, Sales and Marketing Director, in growing Joya’s worldwide market presence.  He was previously on staff as Brand Manager for the USA, as the key liaison between Joya de Nicaragua and US Distributor Drew Estate.

Thirdly, Mr. Carlos Zuñiga was named as Creative Director.  Carlos will be responsible for “shepherding Joya’s image around the world,” in a continuing effort of presenting the company’s message to international customers.  He has more than ten years of experience as creative director for a leading Nicaraguan advertising company.

These new members of the JdN team will be based in Nicaragua, but are expected to join Dr. Cuenca and the rest of the executive team in customer visits and events around the world.
