Thus balance was restored to the cosmos...

John Bull Bulldog
5.5x52
5 pack purchased on Cbid for $5 :D
Never had one. Going to go find some right now. I usually figure anything under $5 a stick is a pretty cheap price. Enjoy brother
Well with all things involving cbid patience for the right deal is key. For the John Bull cigars I would recommend the crown, bulldog, or Britannia sizes. Anything else is way to big for a blend that is pretty straightforward. Toast, cream, sweetness, the occasional grassiness, more cream, sometimes you get a dud-but more often than not a solid smoke. Have been smoking the brand for almost a decade and it is my go to poor man conny wrap cigar.

Now.. since you also are into pipes let me just say that while wholly unrelated flavor wise John Bull makes a good English blend pouch of pipe tobacco as well. Wonderful for keeping at work, in the glove box, out camping or whatever cuz it is a self sealing pouch. Reminded me of summer sausage and campfires. Can also be won on cbid to the patient for as low as $2.50 a pouch.

Hope you have success and enjoyment from a perennial favorite no name budget smoke of mine. ;)

This hit the spot last night. Sometimes a cheap cigar is just what you need. Enjoy

What are you usually smoking that Undercrowns are cheap??? They're not Padron or Liga expensive, but...
I usually find these on CBID for around $3.50-$4.50 a stick which is pretty good to me. Just have to be patient and stick to your bids. I won 25 more on Monday.

CBID is the devils site. You just have to set your bid and walk away until the auction is over. DO NOT get into a bidding war. lol

Curious on your thoughts on the strength and body of the cigar, Mike.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

This was the second of two, back to back, and seemed to fit right in the middle of strength. Fairly rich flavor throughout.

What a great morning. Good coffee, great cigar, and 71° in Indiana. Have a great day.

About to light something from @jledou, but it isn't marked so I'm not sure what it is. Image

I believe that is an AJ Fernandez overrun. Random bundles when they were on clearance them out of CI a few years back. Some are pretty clear on what they are based on shape and size. Others like this one are somewhat of a mystery. This one could be a standard line or one of the house blends he did for CI.

It appears I have to walk back years' worth of commentary. Despite my braggadocio concerning my ability to identify AJF, I don't think I would have guessed this one. It's savory with a good bit of pepper, but doesn't display that sometimes searing sharpness I get from AJF. It's a very good cigar.
