Speaking of... this is about the time we get a pic of Kip bundled up with the thermostat reading 60 F

I myself have been able to get by with Universal tires (yes I know actual snow tires are better). Just don't drive like a total moron and your cool 90% of winters here in IL.

Two things...

1. No thermostat. We don't have A/C or heat.

2. I don't know that it's ever gotten down to 60 since we've lived in the DR....

Cromag Mode 5

New box. Strong cigars. As fresh as they could be. Mocha, black coffee, roasted cashews, blackened/charred pork chop flavors. These are a great end of the night cigar when you want something to power through a tired palate.
Good Lord am I in the mood for a Mode 5 right now! Thanks, Zed! ImageImageImage

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia

Above 40 degrees today with sunshine! Enjoying this robusto that came in a bundle of 12 labled ci White. Believe it to be a Knock off a monte white? A nice stick that had some sweetness and some retro-spice to it. It burned well outside with no touch ups, and went with the peach ale rather swimmingly.

Anybody know anything about these little Belindas? Not great, but good company while running errands today.

Someone gave me this. So far, not so great. Flavor reminiscent of grandma's old electric stack heater back in the 70's. Very dry. Very metallic taste. Manufactured well, but with inferior components.

Took this direct from cigars-review.org
"Although it has history as a much-appreciated Cuban brand started in 1882, the full-flavored Belinda was re-introduced by Cubatabaco as a machine-made in 1987, aimed primarily at the Eastern European market, with whom Cuba had strong trade relations at the time. This explains the small size of the range, which are totally machine-made, or machine-bunched with a hand-rolled wrapper."

The non Cuban Belindas are sold by JR https://www.jrcigars.com/brand/belinda-cigars/belinda -re-launched by Estelo Padrón at his factory in Honduras. Honduran long-leaf fillers, a Honduran binder, and a mild Connecticut Broadleaf/Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. Economical sticks at about $2-3 a cigar.

Dan's right. Hand finished, machine bunched. The blend is not overly well thought to be, well, the same. I've heard some island hopping friends saying they always seem to ttaste different every time they're there...

The last time I was at La Fábrica, the owner gave me this Davidoff. Time to see what all the fuss is about....
