If anything, this thing reminded me of the Intemperance EC; it had those notes of graham and honey spice, just not as smooth as the EC. Very good lancero though, Stew!

characteristicaly your band looks fine. It has the right number of squares and the right verbage after the 03/04 change. I'm a little less sure about the font of "Habana" and the lack of "crispness" on the gold though. Those are much more of a reach after being asked about it though. What I'm most curious about is that wrapper. One thing Cuba seems to do right (or did. It's been a few years for me) is their grading of Cohiba appearance. Cohiba gets some pretty stellar wrappers and has pretty good construction appearance. Their binders are typically almost wrapper leaves with cosmetic issues. That cigar looks to have a bit of a rough wrapper and a slightly bumpy binder. I'm a little more interested in the box based on your query because a few things are just "off" here. Nothing is crazy and I wouldn't be opposed to thinking that the cigar could be real. Though I am falling, when pushed, onto the fake side of things unless your tasting & packaging lined up with where they should be.

The Undercrown Shade @stewmuse left for comparison with the Mimic. Frankly, I think I appreciated the Mimic more. The UC is kinda tannic, leaning toward bitter in these first few minutes. We'll see how it progresses...

The wrapper does look a touch dark, but between 2011-2014, it seems they used some wrapper that was like that. Cohibas typically have a lighter, more yellow wrapper. The one you had doesnt look absolutely fake, I would air on the side of a real cigar that just didnt have the grassiness and vanilla bean profile that the lighter wrappers bring.

This was easily the best cigar I've had this year, and even the internal tunnel had no ill effects on the cigar's performance. It also left a faint barnyard smell in my nose, which I really enjoyed. The only downside was that it was too short!
