The 46 is my favorite. Although I haven't smoked it, I think that "The Shark" is played out; so many people have talked about it, raved about it, and shop clerks try to push people towards it. Idk, but I think that's why I won't touch one. I'll take all the 46's I could get my hands on.

If a flipping Curly Head costs anywhere near $14, you should definitely leave the country. That cigar is about $2-3 throughout most of the US....

I have told this story before, but it's relavent here. Padron 2000's in the shops are $21-23. This is what you all down south have to look foreward to for the future unless you can actually fight.
Australia is even worse...

If things go to shit here, almost all my cigars will come illegally from Germany. Not happy about that, but I'm not giving up my passion.

I enjoy all the Anejo's. With that said I have tried them all and the 48 is my favorite. The 77(Shark) is my traditional New Years Eve cigar. As I do enjoy them a lot and they last a couple of hours for me. How do you say the 46 is your favorite yet you have never smoked one.

You've misunderstood. I've smoked the 46, and some of the other sizes, except the 77. I steer clear mostly because of the "talk" surrounding that cigar. I'm sure it's a fantastic stick, and one that I'm looking to try someday, but, as of right now, I'm good with the other sizes some people won't touch.

Speaking of which, I do have one Anejo 50 that has been sitting in my humidor for two years, and I'll join you in smoking it for New Years Eve.

I think my palate has evolved or a few blends have changed in the past 15 years since I first had the Anejo. I think it's a different cigar these days and I'm sensing that's a theme with me. I have spoken multiple times how I feel the same about the Padron 64. Maybe it's just my palate? Maybe the blend of the Anejo (post 2000) is just experiencing normal blend shift? What say you?

For what it's worth, I like the 48s best. I'm not a huge vitola guy but the 46s never did it for me. They're high on the spice and low on the deep coffee sweetness. I'll go with the larger ring where I think it shines more (without getting as large of a cigar as the 49).
