After that tumultuous midsection of our first year, we're just getting into a firm groove

Re: Big Day
A jardinero came by and wanted to cut the grass behind the house yesterday. There may have been something lost in translation.....or maybe he saw no point in just having to come back later and cut it again.

Perhaps he thought you needed a garden...Kip wrote:A jardinero came by and wanted to cut the grass behind the house yesterday. There may have been something lost in translation.....or maybe he saw no point in just having to come back later and cut it again.

Re: Big Day
None. I'm no longer a licensed driver here. Apparently, when you sell all your cars and cancel the insurance in Florida, you have to turn in the license plates to the government and fill out forms that you no longer own any vehicles. I just destroyed mine when we sold the last car. So....when my insurance company reported me to the state as no longer having insurance, the state suspended my license. I'm not willing/able to pay the $150 to reinstate it (mostly unwilling, because I have no use for it 350 days a year).
So, Kristi gets to do all the driving.

If by kill you mean "dug it all up with a shovel," then yes....

Re: Big Day
Pretty excited. Next week, my friend William is taking Nick and I over to Dajabon, on the Haitian border. It's a small community where a large "market" comes over the border into the Dominican Republic to sell their goods. Based on the pics I've seen, this should be quite an adventure....
