God, I love these!

Stew, you got one of these coming your way. Tell me what you think when you get around to smoking it.

Will do, Frank. For tonight, tho, a little milder fare...

I'm on the tail end of it now. I'm considering a cigar this afternoon

Gee, this has a lot more kick and spice when you haven't preceded it with an AJ New World!

HOLY CRAP this was amazing ! Craig, I know you don't like bigger sizes, but you missed out on this. Soooo flavorful for such a medium-mild cigar. One of the best cigars I have had this year already....considering it's age. The first one I had in February was not great at all, but what a change a couple months makes. I would have rated this a 94-95. With the right lighter type drink, and a clean palatte, these are bang on !

Southern Draw Quick Draw Habano

Very good representation of Habano. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a little bit fuller cigar. There was the typical pepper there, but dialed back to perfection. I love Habano wrappers, and even more when blended right. Top notch cigar !
91.

Cigarro del dia - numero cinco

Broke into one of Stew's handmades today. This one is the Casa Trompeta: 5x50, with a blend consisting Dom and Nica fillers, Dom binder, and a Connecticut shade (Ecuador?) wrapper.

Thoughts: I was surprised at how slow this cigar burned; maybe it's because it was still "fresh" (band date of 4/16)? Definitely spent a good hour and twenty mins smoking -- watched 4 episodes of American Dad on Netflix. Being such a young cigar, Stew rolled, to me, a solid mild/medium-bodied stick. Flavors consisted of a generous dosage of pepper in the 1/3, which led to relatively none in the final-third. Slight undertones of earth, heavy wood and grass were in the mix, slight burnt coffee and toast, along with a very creamy, chewy smoke that completely dried my palate out. The highlight of the cigar was this wonderful lavender-ish, florally flavor I got on the retro in the second-third. I was hoping to get some more of that as it progressed, but it was a one-and-done. To accompany this stick was a fine burn, and the ash held on halfway -- as I reached for my phone to take a pic, the ash fell off. Image

This pic is from the first-third: Image

There was a beautiful ruggedness to this cigar, along with a fantastic construction and burn. All in all, my intro is Stew's stogies was a good experience, and I cannot wait to set fire to the others!

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia
