Well, then perhaps you might recall these... when I last visited with Kip (Jan 2020), I bought about a dozen, or so, “no name” cigars that were made in the DR that had not, to my admittedly limited knowledge, made it to the US. They all cost about
$4.00-8.00, American. I have decided that this spring is time to smoke them. Some are single representatives of a brand/line, some will be multiple varieties in a line.
Of these first two, the Blackbird Rook Colorado is, by far, the better of the two. It was 5x50, nicely constructed with wonderfully easy (but not loose) draw. A touch of sweetness and a very pleasant flavor throughout.
The other, from Burnot cigars, was just a bit bigger at 5x52. The wrapper was somewhat dark, but not maduro, and smooth. The draw, though, was on the firm side, and the flavor, while plentiful, was not very good, starting and staying toward the dark/hard side.
