I find myself doing this often with cigars I know well — and I have Craig to thank for this. I just love to peel the wrapper and just enjoy the binder! Educational and it bothers some of the guys I frequently smoke with cause they “never do that” Image Image
Yeah baby!! It's a useful way to taste all of the cigar, isn't it?!

Doing something weird....recreational cigar smoking. About to light a JML Family Reserve that Luis gave me last summer when I was passing through Miami trying to get our residency straightened out. Image

The guy that does scrimshaw work ('Hutch') contacted me several years ago. He said he had an idea independently to use the term 'The Cigarmy', but after searching online found I was using it. He asked if he could put it on some of his cutters. I said go for it, so he offered to give me #1 of 10. That's this cutter.

He makes these things out of all kinds of natural and synthetic materials, and is incredibly talented....but that comes with a price. They ain't cheap (unless you're using something he wants to put on it) :)

Wasn’t there a guy who had a website called cigarmony? I think he sold humidor beads or something.

There was, Mark Neff. I believe he closed up quite some time ago. He was cigarmony (cigar + harmony); I The Cigarmy (cigar + army)

Fun story. Mark was a friend many years ago and I went through the motions of trying to purchase Cigarmony and his Rh Beads from him. He evaluated his website's value far higher than traditional business models would suggest and it never occurred. We're beyond 7 years since that occurred at this point so why not discuss. Nice guy. Tough conversationalist. Hardcore conservative. Wrong personality for retail/sales. That said, he did a lot with Cigarmony. Made it quite profitable for a while and employed me at multiple RTDAs and the early days of IPCPR. I worked his booth for him.
It's too bad, really. It would have been a fun venture to run if I had bought it all.

Maybe you could pick it up for a bargain. I’m sure that a lot of the old-timers would bit and with them the newer crowd. If it takes off, remember me!

It's going to get hot and humid. So smoking early.
