Re: Pics of your Sticks
It has been a very slow year for rolling cigars, primarily because today is just the 4th day this year that I don’t have either a teaching, retail, or performance responsibility. This was just my third, if not second, cigar rolling session of 2019. Ecuadorian wrapper, Indo-Sumatra binder, and Brazilian fillers. The very veiny cigars in the left are the result of using the very inner portion of a leaf, virtually right against the center stem. Hey, they’ll still smoke and taste great, but won’t be the visual belles of the ball...

Re: Pics of your Sticks
As an aside, akpreacher mentioned poor “casing” of the binder and wrapper resulting in rumpled wrapper appearance. I’m not sure what he means by that, but let me suggest that you first simply try getting the wrapper leaf much wetter. It should be very limp and stretchy, but not soggy.
If the cigar is bumpy after being in the mold, then you’ve underfilled the body. It should fit firmly in the mold, especially if the leaf is on the dry side.
The problem may also simply be the wrapper leaf quality. There is a pretty wide range of good vs. meh in the leaf I get, be it tears or holes, shape, thickness, or veins. Sometimes you can get little “stitches” in the outer part of the leaf and there is just no fixing that. It’s the price we pay for not having access to the actual leaf used in the factories.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it; everything fades away: your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. - Raul Julia
