Just a friendly FYI that our neighborhood seller from my liquidation post sent me yesterday:
"Funny story. I went to the small shop where I normally go that has a small post office inside. There just happened to be a postal inspector/trainer there doing training. The lady I normally deal with noticed I had marked the packages "Fragile" and said since they're marked fragile, I must ask what's inside. I said cigars. She said since it is a tobacco product, we can only ship dealer to dealer. Of course she asked the postal guy for guidance and they looked it up, she didn't have all the regulations. He had to call his boss, who confirmed it couldn't be mailed unless I had a dealer ID.
So, I brought it home and reboxed it without the "fragile"..."

Unless it has changed (it may have), that's not true to the code. It's cigarettes only - pipe tobacco and cigars can be shipped without problem. Local folks gave me trouble at times in Florida when I had the retailer license, but further investigation always bore this out. I had to work up the chain several times, but that was it.

So a buddy of mine mentions that he is taking a trip to Vegas and plans to hit a cigar lounge on his trip. He asks if I wanted him to grab me anything. Not really putting much thought into it I reply "Sure I'll set aside some money, grab me whatever their house blend is." I figure that way I wont totally break the bank and also get to try something I otherwise wouldn't be able to have. This of course was shot to smitheroons when he arrives holding a Casa Fuente bag :!: . $45 later I have 2 Casa Fuente cigars in what is HANDS DOWN the most money I have- and will ever spend- on a cigar. These things better be awesome...

Y'all know Casa Fuente isn't owned by the Fuente family, right?

Assuming you are talking about the shop, that I didn't know but I can say they definitely get a nice selection to stock.

CASA FUENTE would be my only reason to ever visit "Sin City".

Yeah. The Frey Brothers and Robert Levine (of Ashton fame) own it. They license the name and also pay a percentage of the revenue to CFCF. Those two things, coupled with its location (both the city and specifically in the upscale mall it sits in) add up to the ridulousness in pricing. They get outrageously rare cigars, and plenty of them - but even I, in my heydays, wouldn't pay the price for many of them.....although I did on two occasions while out there for IPCPR. Couldn't help myself.

Heh, that is funny. I knew exactly where that story was going, DC. I have been to Casa Fuente. I knew their cigar prices were steep. They keep going up every year by a lot.
I had bought a mojito and corona gorda there in 2013, and it was a package deal at $16. That was a good price, even then.

I hope you like them. I used to at one point, but as my palate changed, luckily those were something I out-grew.
