Re: Big Day
On the plus side, I learned that I can get into my house with only a pocket knife in like 20 seconds.....

You sure they just aren't lying around the house somewhere or in your vehicle?

Re: Big Day
Yeah. I had to have them to leave the house and lock the door. I remember my son handing them to me and I put them in my pocket as we left. Some time between that moment and when we returned, I must have accidentally plucked them out of my pocket and not noticed them fall. My truck key is on a separate keychain, because my wife and I have to share it - so I had no need of the missing keychain until we returned home and needed to get in the house. We took the interior of the truck apart looking for them, but no dice. We had so many stops today there's no telling where I dropped them. We had breakfast at a little gas station diner (which is actually much more tasty than it sounds), and had stops at PriceSmart, Altice (cell phone company here), and the supermarket. They could be anywhere. I need one of those little tracking device tabs on them...but, of course, hindsight is 20/20.

Ugh. What a bummer. I lost my wedding ring yesterday for a few hours and miraculously found it in carpeting at an unfinished job site. Don't give up on it just yet. You never know.

Re: Big Day
None of it is irreplaceable thankfully. And, it's not nearly as bad as the last time I lost my keys. About 10 years ago, I was working on the Jeep and emptied my pockets onto the hood of the car - keys (with keychain I bought on my honeymoon and was attached to, as goofy as it seems), Xikar cutter, two (yes, 2) lighters....everything. When I placed everything on the car, the stuff was in a black area near the windshield, hidden from anyone inside. You guessed it...Kristi didn't know and took off shopping in the car. My stuff was presumably strewn all over town and never recovered.kurtdesign1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 10:08 amUgh. What a bummer. Not sure I understand how that ring came off your finger. Do you usually take it off if you are doing some kind of labour with your mitts ?kurtdesign1 wrote:Ugh. What a bummer. I never wear my watch or wedding ring, unless it is a Friday and no work for the entire weekend. I like wearing them, but sticking my hands in panels that may have 600V 3 phase power is never a good thing. I take them off on Sunday night and dont worry. The wife has always agreed it is a better thing than being electrocuted. She is good like that ^_^

SOme of my equipment is some rather heavy & bulky items to lug into nearly finished houses. When I'm hauling this stuff around all day I generally remove my wedding ring because it sucks to haul 60 pound metal handled fans and the like with a ring on. I put it in my pocket regularly and must have pulled it out at some point and for some unknown reason. I was reasonably certain it was at this single job because I had to drive there and knew I had it on before I left my truck.Zedman05 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:51 pmNot sure I understand how that ring came off your finger. That said, I hate wearing a ring for so many things. Hockey sticks suck with a ring, washing hands bothers me when water gets under there, carrying heavy things, etc. Ugh. I don't mind it regularly, just most every day something frustrates me about it. lol

Constant move for me also whenever I cook, work on anything with my hands or workout. Go to move is also to put it in my left pocket, then when done it goes back on. Lost my ring for about 8 months when it slid out of my pocket into my parents couch ... started cooking dinner for my parents and my family and it went in the pocket, didn't think about it until dinner was over and we were ready to leave a couple hours later.kurtdesign1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 5:42 pmSOme of my equipment is some rather heavy & bulky items to lug into nearly finished houses. Another good one, on the flight over to Korea last week the gentleman next to me loses his phone in the seat about 20 minutes before take-off, long story short about 15 minutes later a mechanic finds it and gets it out by taking the seat half way apart. Moral of the story Kip, check that truck seat ... apparently they are hungry and good at hiding things

I am right with you with water getting under my ring. I have a second ring that is very wide and flat, so when water gets under that, it makes the skin itchy. Hate it. I therefor take the ring off to clean.kurtdesign1 wrote:SOme of my equipment is some rather heavy & bulky items to lug into nearly finished houses. Maybe, instead of putting it in your pocket, put your ring on a (if you wear one) chain around your neck. That is what I do when I forget to take it off. Put my ring on my chain, that way I never forget its there.

I'm not a necklace guy. I used to wear tags but not for years.
