Whatever floats yer boat....as long as it's cigar related.

My first - but neither my favorite nor best carved - meerschaum, a lab w/duck carved by Yunus. I just dug it out and discovered that some time in the past I left two, 1/4" sections of unsmoked cigar in it. Time to rub them out and see what a bit of incredibly dried out, indeterminate cigar leaf tastes like.

Do I want further explanation of that?

It was not great.
On to other things. The Andullo is so incredibly wet and dense that it began to mold while I was trying to dry it. I trimmed off the moldy area and started chopping, grinding, rubbing, and pulling it apart, hoping it would dry faster. I swear it's like friggin tar.

Crazy. That looks like burned/charred wood bits.

Before I scrolled up to read what he had written I thought he was experimenting with curing/smoking his own pipe tobacco. It looked like hardwood charcoal pieces to me, too.

Starting my 4 day weekend with Pappy V and some hazelnut coffee. Scored this stick for $16. We shall see.

Dominican Glory Maduro, a decent but mundane blend with some cigar leaf....in an old Nording freehand. This pipe was originally lighter in color than the wooden bowl in the background, and signed on the shank. Now, it has darkened with use and the signature is obscured. Still smokes like a champ, but is a bit heavy for clenching.
