Help Fund Half Ashed's Hosting Costs
Hey guys....
As y'all know, Craig and I have resisted the outright selling of adspace. We wanted to keep our opinions free of (real or perceived) muddling or conflicts from having advertisers who might be affected by what we say. It's very freeing to know that you can call a turd a turd (Palio ligher). That being said, the recent upgrades (and those yet to come) mean that the costs for Half Ashed have gone up exponentially. I know that this time next year I won't be in a position to shell out the cash involved to maintain what we've recently put into place, so we're looking at other options. We still want to avoid cigar manufacturer ads, and those that would have any appearance of undue influence. What I HAVE done for now is place a small Amazon banner on the blog (because it's quick, easy, and has no bearing on any cigar related opinions we might voice). If you click through this link to Amazon and purchase something, a (very) small percentage will go to us for maintaining the site. So, if you have something you need from them, I'd appreciate it if you could do that. Your price for the item is the same.....
If/when/as any of this kind of thing changes, I'll keep you all in the loop. We're pretty upfront with everything we do around here.

I was actually just today thinking/wondering about that banner. The wife and I will certainly use it!

I don't know who you are (the data is all anonymized), but thanks to the two of you who have ordered already! We earned $1.93 the first week. If we can get a few hundred more folks in on this we'll be covered
. In all seriousness, it is greatly appreciated.

Re: Adspace
That dollar amount is good to know. I would've thought you'd be talking about a few pennies (max) per transaction...

I just have to remember to go through the half ashed website. I order enough on Amazon to keep you afloat!

Re: Adspace
It is a way for all of us to donate a little each month for the show, people can pledge a dollar a month to the show or more if they would like to help cover costs.
