My first attempt at a backyard rink.
I bought this house because it has a larger yard compared to most places around just so I had the opportunity to build a rink.
I figured that I would pay it forward so to speak, as my Father built a rink for my brother and I.
45' long x 28.5' wide.
Now it is wait time until cold enough constantly to freeze the ground for a couple weeks, then the water goes down.

Th e site dropped Ian's and my post here.
Zed, this is cool. I tried, WAY back in the day, a similar, tho much less ambitious project. I failed. Better luck to you!

I for one love hockey, but I am happy to love in a place that is not conducive to ice sticking around!

Re: Backyard Hockey
Well, today was the first time on the ice. It has been so warm this past month that it has been hard flooding and freezing.
I was finally satisfied enough with the surface, and got rid of almost all the air bubbles, so it was ice time.
I also got a couple LED flood lights for the rink from the brother in law for free, which is better than the $300 each that they wanted.
72 watt @ 110 volt = 0.7 amp draw.....killer !

Then knock on your door at 3am when I'm asking if you can come out and play.

Then pea "ice princess" into your rink when you tell me to go home and that I can't use your rink.
