The Four Kicks is straight up mold. I've had three boxes of cigars open up with mold in my 20 years of smoking cigars - two were Four Kicks....

Recently bought boxes or did you let them sit?

That sucks, Kip! Image

This pic is several months old. I opened this box to consolidate packaging for my move to the DR. It had sat side-by-side with about 500 other cigars in a coolidor and no other mold, so go figure. I'd had this box for quite some time before opening it. The other I opened as soon as I took it home and found the same.

As a side note, the other of the 3 boxes I've ever had with mold came out of the same factory. It was an EP Carrillo Short Run box. I think they were packing too wet for a period.

Out of curiosity, did you try and reach out to Huber about the problem? He seems like a cool guy who will provide excellent customer service.

I hope you gave them a proper burial, Kip. Image

Ok, ok. I know this is a touchy subject. I gotta say, your first pictures seem right on the edge, for me. A dead giveaway for me is height of the particulate (mold or plume). If it's sitting on top of the wrapper, it's mold. The first pic seems to show some small threads lifting off the surface. Is this an illusion or am I actually seeing something? I typically think of plume as the speckley gold-like deposits on cigars from time to time. They (the deposits) are just something emitted from the tobacco.
