Leaf Storage

Once you get your leaf, you need to protect it. You should keep your leaf dry until you are ready to use it. I leave my leaf in the plastic bags in which they arrive, simply keeping it all in a large wooden box. A plastic storage box will also do, although I noticed that when i started this way the humidity tended to rise in their during the summer.

Wouldn't this dry the oils out on the leaf just like drying out a cigar

I suppose that's possible, but if you look at videos of factories and the rolling process, they always have to rehydrate the leaf, so their storage is clearly one of low moisture. If you store it moist it WILL become moldy.
