For anyone looking for a great IPA the Get Bent from Parkway Brewing in Salem, VA will do the trick. Nothing fancy, just a good heavy beer. I've had luck finding this anywhere in VA. The rating on this is way too low IMHO.

Founders KBSImage

$392 in beer. Stupid.
I love drinking the All Day IPA from Founders. Too bad the only time I get to have any is if I venture into the states and pick up a few cases, or my friends from Michigan bring some up with them and let the rest of us heathens take a few cans.

I've never understood the love for Founder's but obviously that's my tastebuds rather than any flaws in the product. I did luck into some Founders KBS this year which was very tasty.

The local HyVee was pumping up some new store exclusive brand coming in a Lager or PA or IPA. I grabbed a can of the Loaded Toad Lager for 2.70 to try. This is pet peeve #1 of mine with beer. If your gonna say how special or craft your product is don't sell it in a can. Have the decency to put it in glass. Anyways it was fine enough beer, but for my poor palate I could get by with Keystone Light, PBR, Old Style, or even MGD and be money well ahead never noticing a difference.

The craft beer scene is moving to canning over glass atleast here locally. They can save about 15% on freight costs and the beer will last about 3 months longer in normal storage conditions. I much prefer glass but I can understand the why. Here's to hoping those aluminum tariffs pay off and your beer is back in bottles soon enough!

Summer time at the pool and at the lake I am thankful for cans because they are easier and better than being regulated to Bud and Miller.
