There's some background here that I'll share if this post seems interesting to you folk but I have a basic question.
If you could time travel where would you go, and if you'd like to share, what would you do?

Re: Time Travel
Easy. Virtually any Caribbean island before the year 1450 (gotta give myself some time before those rascally Spaniards show up). Pristine waters, ample foodstuffs, no freakin' traffic. Of course, a solar powered refrigerator and weather satellite would be plusses. And maybe this woman...

I have no idea who she is. I just know that she has red hair, seems to be slender, and is gorgeous. That's all I need... mostly.

The future (100-200+ years) mainly to see the technology and hopefully real commercial space travel.

Re: Time Travel
Three responses is enough to share my question. Would anyone go back to a happy memory so they can relive the feeling of euphoria or contentment? I wonder why we often choose to go to some future idealistic situation or go back to fix some terrible memory. Why don't we relive good moments in our life? Over the years I've found that I'm nearly alone in my wish to live my wedding day over again. It's my best day. Most people I have talked to about this don't feel this way. I'm curious why...

Re: Time Travel
A wedding is very important. A *marriage* infinitely more so.
Love the memories but make every effort to foster all the things from the wedding day that you cherish into as many "todays" as possible. Renew them. Love your wife. Treasure your relationship. Be joyful in the children you've been blessed with.
I tend to be more stoic or even cynical; my mind won't let me daydream much about reliving a past day or wisting away for a future utopia. These days, I'm just trying to make each day the best "today" possible.
I fail. A lot.
But, I'm working on it.

Re: Time Travel
Man, you guys are just so... sensitive. Next thing you know, we'll be talking about "feelings" and our "personal insecurities" (not that I have any, of course) and about "respecting women" and about "being good fathers" and about "making the world a better place to live" and "being one with nature" and "loving ourselves for who we are" and...
Whew! That hurt. Okay, better now. You're both right, though. I'm gonna go have a cigar...

Re: Time Travel
My wife is one of the few people my true feelings/emotions come out to. She's my best friend. I messed up big this week, got chewed out, and had makeup...relations...all in the same day. Even if that was my best man-friend, we'd need to punch each other and not talk for a week or so.
Married Brothers of the Leaf, we are blessed. Also, I feel blessed to be friends with all you.
