Life is a mysterious, mysterious thing. WHo'd have thought this would be happening when you and I were both lamenting our professional positions 2 years ago? I'm proud of you, brother.

Just to be clear, I think you should sticky your donation link in a new thread here on EVERY category of the forum. Make it easy to find. It's for a good cause; certainly more important than anything we do on the show. Ha!

A mighty big leap for you all. I'm sure the multitude of uncertainties is your biggest stressor. Just kinda ride it out and rely on the words of your companions already there. And have a cigar...

The house went live on the market Friday night. From Saturday through today we've had 24 showings, which resulted in 6 offers - 2 of which are above asking price. We're supposed to talk with the realtor tonight and be under contract by tomorrow. We might even be able to afford transportation after we're in the Dominican.....

We're officially under contract now. Home inspection is on Sunday. The buyers have until next Tuesday to rescind the offer/back out for any - or no - reason without a loss of deposit. Assuming all goes well, we'll be closing on June 10th.

Assuming this all goes through, we should actually clear enough to cover my ginormous outstanding medical bills. Don't get me wrong; it's a wonderful thing to have a Top-10-in-the-world cancer center right in my back yard....but it ain't cheap :D

We also have a big cancer center here that does really good work. Our company works on stuff in there, and I was there 4 times in the last couple weeks to fix things. Many of my family and firends' family have had their time at that place. Glad we have it, but unlike the 'Murica'n system, ours visits are at least partially if not fully covered under health care. Better well be, with all the mother f#@&ing taxes we pay on booze and tobacco.

I have health insurance that covers the majority...it's just that the minority is still a lot of money for me :)
