Had to look at that one a couple of times... do we call that Dominican Engineering :?:
At the school where we often work, there's not usually any power. They have a small generator, but never enough cords/ends. So, the wires were attached to a plug....the stick was just to keep them from touching.
So... some extension cords in the next box o' goodies would be a good thing?
We can arrange for the cords. They're available here; the school just doesn't have enough. I will be buying them a couple extra soon locally...because they're weighty at $5/lb to bring packages down :)

Hey @Stewmuse - the Águilas ended up winning the championship last night, defeating the same team you watched them play while here (Licey)

I wondered about that after William's Facebook post. Did you go to the game? Did it take two hours to get there?

I didn't. Game 7 was in Santo Domingo...

Ask and ye shall receive. After the long run to finally having a free(ish) day, it appears I'll have 2 more. There's a nationwide strike for public school teachers tomorrow and Thursday. So, no English classes nor our new project with William. I guess I have to take that time and locate a mechanic, as my truck has been resistant to starting....again. The last time, a previously unfixed leak around the valve cover gasket had spilled oil down the block onto the starter underneath. Being all clogged up with oil, it finally stopped working. Hopefully it's that simple again. Gonna try and get the leak taken care of and clean up the starter. Let's see how that goes....

While normally one to consider this option, I don't think I could sit back and feel the slightest bit refreshed after said "draws" knowing that my car still hadn't fixed itself. At times I wish I was a more laid back person that could truly let loose when relaxing. I don't hold much but something as big as my necessary vehicle not working would fit the bill. Am I alone in this regard?

Kipper, good luck with the exploration and repairs. I hope the situation is solely a repeat and requires no further head scratching.

It's with a "mechanic" as I type. We'll see how this plays out. The Hartsfields' vehicle is also out of commission, having its engine rebuilt. In addition to the starting trouble, mine often doesn't want to go in reverse (or Drive, having to run around in 2nd until up to speed....i think the hydraulic trigger is dead in the transmission). The 2 families are sharing a borrowed vehicle at the moment.

I also have a jacked up front gate, broken cistern pump (again), and am having difficulties with one of my kids at the school. The icing on this cake is intermittent power the past few days, which will inevitably fry everything electronic in my house. Meanwhile, my visa aspirations are on hold until at least summer and they deported/refused entry to 11k persons last month. It's a glamorous friggin' life.

At least I have some cigars now :)
