How come they don’t do any of this fun stuff when I’m there? I feel kinda cheated...
They do. These huelgas (strikes/protests) occur all the time. It's the default mode of protest. I have planned routes around them while you were down :).

In fact, huelgas are the most organized thing about this country. They usually get the word out for dates/times/locations well ahead of time. The area near my kids' school is common ground for protest...and they always call ahead of time and tell the school how rowdy it's expected to get so they know when to cancel classes and have the kids not be there :D .
Well, then I’ll be sure to bring some marshmallows, chocolate bars and graham crackers. Nothing like smoke from burning tires to flavor a s’more!

Was awoken overnight by earthquakes. Nothing serious; a 4.4 and 5.2. We have these smaller ones regularly (a good thing - keeps pressure in relief). These were just centered closer than normal so they were big enough to shake the bed and rattle the windows/doors. Small tornadoes and hurricanes I'm accustomed to; I've spent much of my life living with those....earthquakes weird me the the heck out.

Cool as a cucumber Kip turns into Castanza at a kids birthday party whenever a little tremor starts.
Tell me I'm wrong. You know you're thinking it, too.

Yeah, yeah. I'll wear that. We have little ones regularly. Between 3-4.0, which means they're most always all but undetectable. Three in the past 10 days over 5 (5.9, 5.4, & 5.2) and I'm not a fan.
