I’m having more of The Haunting (one day I’ll open a different tin) in this beautiful straight Billard from Smith House Pipes.

Re: Whats in your bowl?
Had a nice bowl of GLP Telegraph Hill this afternoon. Telegraph Hill is a very nice light Virginia Perique blend. This particular tin is a fresh one without much age, but I was greeted with that McClelland “ketchup” smell. It was a delightful smoke

Smoked a bowl a couple weeks ago and thought it was ok. This time I dried it longer and it was exceptional! The play between the cigar leaf and the Virginia’s was very nice!815DC wrote:Your thoughts on BBB?akpreacher wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 5:12 pmBilly Budd Blonde in the Stanwell Vario 109

Opting for some '09 CPCC New Century in what I affectionately call. My "horny pipe", and fuming about the power company's utter ineptitude.

Re: Whats in your bowl?
I opened a tin of 2005 McC Christmas Cheer last night. It is....
in a word.....
'Disappointing'.
The moisture is higher than I'd like, but that's typical for McClelland blends. The presentation is good, with a tumbled/broken flake. The aroma is prototypical McClelland. I'm not a fanboy, but I'm OK with that.
The thing that I don't dig is the ridiculous density of the flake. I don't fully understand why, but it's hard as a friggin rock. Like, 'dang near impossible to rub out into a dish' hard. It won't burn in its current state short of a severe windstorm, but is so hard, it's like rubbing a hand full of pebbles to prep it. I dried some out...a lot....just to make it friable.
I feel like I'm gonna have to open something else up to enjoy today.
