GLP Fillmore in my Savinelli 804. First time trying Fillmore. Very nice Va/Per blend. I’m very new to GLP blends. Bought a few different blends after I listened to the pipe show that Kip and Craig did a while back (I caught the podcast version last week).

Glad to see you posting again - AND enjoying your pipe!

I'm the biggest GLP fan boy around, but I have the strongest love affair with his English/Oriental/Balkan/Whatever blends. I like his VAs and Va/Pers as well, I'm just not as embarrassingly enamored as with those that carry some latakia or other Orientals in them :)

Thanks! Hope you and your family are well in the DR.
The only “English” GLP blend I’ve tried is Piccadilly. It was good. I’m still developing my taste for Latakia. So far I’m really enjoying the Virginia’s!

Have any of you purchased estate pipes from smoking pipes.com?
What are your thoughts?

I have bought many things pipe related from them since their inception well over a decade ago (maybe even close to 15 years at this point). Never a problem. I have no connection to them outside being a happy customer, and will say they really are the industry standard for my money. Granted, my buying is greatly reduced these days (one small order per year, versus 6-10 larger orders per year back in the day).

Specifically concerning estate pipes - you'll pay these guys more than you would via eBay or an individual....BUT, 1) you know the pipe has been examined thoroughly and 2) described accurately in the listing. They also 3) have them cleaned up well. You won't get grungy old chunks of garbage. I believe 4) you can return it if there's an issue as well (but I wouldn't know....never had an issue).

As a side note, I notice a lot of "drift" in their inventory since my heyday. In the past, a $1000 pipe was very, very rare. These days you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. Like with many other "crafts", I blame the hipsters for populating and supporting a market that need not exist :)
