That’s what smoking pipes claims. I don’t have reason to doubt it.

I’m out on trying 100% Perique lol. 50% is almost too strong for me. Bayou Morning, one of my favorites, has 25% Per. That’s a good level for me.

Most of the time perique is just a condiment, and many blends just have 5-9%. It can be dominating. It tickles my nose and makes me sneeze.

It gives me the hiccups haha.

I definitely appreciate the blends where Perique is just a condiment more than a major part of the blend. Those heavier blends have allowed me to be able to pick out the Perique in a blend.

Having a nice bowl of Castello Fiammata. Side note, I love the little carving in the side of this pipe. I would like to think it was a creative way to cover up a flaw in the briar.

C&D Sunday Picnic. Really tasty blend.

Story time. The USPS temporarily lost my shipment from smoking pipes. When it finally arrived, my tin of Sunday picnic was damaged. Seal broken. Emailed SP and they let me keep the damaged tin and issued me a credit for it! Really liking my experience with smoking pipes customer service!

You are absolutely correct. They call them spot carves, and they're used when you have an otherwise beautiful block of wood that has a sand pit or other insignificant aesthetic blemish in an obvious place.

Happy Friday everyone! I’m having a nice bowl of C&D Sunday Picnic in this nice Savinelli that I picked up second hand.

It's been an essentially smoke-free week for me. I now have a few minutes to relax with a bowl of something new (to me). I haven't had this one before. MacB used to have a blend called Latakia Blend. I thought this would be the same. It's not. But hopefully it'll be good on its own merit.
