Well, maybe not News, but...
...I have my first cigar job this summer, working in the Humidor at a local liquor store chain (Binny’s) which sells a fair amount of smokes. So far, it’s pretty enjoyable!

Congrats buddy !
I had a one day cigar shop job myself. The owner wanted to see if I would fit in. I did. He wanted me to work certain days at certain times, and it was all wrong. So I told him I couldnt accept his dates. We are still friendly, and kind of chuck about it a few years later.

Yep. One of the keys to any job for me - because of my performance schedule and my daughter’s Summer stuffs - was flexibility in hours and days and this position seems very well set up for that.Zedman05 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 03, 2018 9:26 pmCongrats buddy !

I am actually fairly positive that is the only Binnys I have shopped at in my life. Stopped in for a bottle of 1 Barrel rum recommended by Stew H and grabbed a couple tasty Flor de Oliva Corojo Robustos. That was years ago now when I was at a convention at the College of DuPage.

Exactly. It used to be attached to that Home Depot but moved across the lot into the former Golfsmith store.kurtdesign1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 9:30 amI'm not sure I know that one. Is that on the NorthWest side of the street (Interchange) by the new Home Depot??

Re: Well, maybe not News, but...
One of the cool in working there is, of course, being around all the different cigars, etc. I also get to see some unique box sets (like a special 10-count case of Opus X’s that includes several BIG sizes, $215) and some shake-your-head items. Like this box of Fuente Don Carlos’ (modeled by my Humidor mate, Jimmy) that came with a pair of white, monogrammed cotton gloves for proper handling. Behold...
