Summer is in full effect now in IL. Had this Henry Runt on the porch as a sort of meditation break. Hope all are doing well!

Well I enjoyed an Undercrown in Toro last night it was just so so..........until I pulled the 5" long, 2mm stem out of the middle of it. WOW what a differenct that makes. Went from little smoke and needing a double puff to a pleathera(yeah I used that word) of smoke in a single puff. Flavors went up in body. WHY is it so hard to find good QC in cigars these days? Rant Over......................

I've been smoking up the last few 'special' cigars I've held on to for years. This one was called the 'Big B', named for a guy in PA named Barry who makes the Fuentes' plastic cigar molds. Apparently, he was shaped a bit bigger toward the foot than the head. Anyway, Carlito had 50 or so of them made for one of the CFC gatherings (2012-2013ish IIRC). I've had it so long because its size is intimidating for the Opus blend to a nicotine wimp like myself. I don't have a tool with me, but the widest part is of considerable more girth than a 60. Dug through the cooler and found the absolute last one of these Gringo on Safari Robustos from Mike's blender event way back in 2017. I guess that makes this 3 years rolled which would be about the time a cigar would be released to sell on a shelf normally unless it is a fresh roll.

The cigar started with Buttery notes and some cream. Then rounded into some coffee notes and spice. It finished with that spice on the retro while maintaining a creamy-ness to the smoke. At least that is how my palate or lack thereof found it to be. It was an absolute treat to see/taste a cigar of varying ages of maturity over 3 years. Thanks for the experience Casa Trompeta!
