2019 CA Cigar of the Year. Pretty good, but not a great cigar. At least, not this year...

Blackbird samplers were sold by zealcigars.com and also cigarsdaily i think among some other online retailers... I don’t know if the brand itself took off.

Thanks for the blackbird info, DC. This Perla Del Mar corojo was an okay smoke, but a little too sweet for my taste, esp for as big a cigar as it is (about 6.5 x 54). I don’t think it’s flavored, just too sweet.

Two more from the Dominican trip. Both performed similarly. The Capos was about 5.5x52. Started out... poorly. I’m not a big Connecticut fan and this was heavy in that to start and I almost put it down by the 1/2” mark. I pushed on and was surprised that it got better all the way to its finish. Not sure I would want to suffer that much to buy it again.
The Last Minute was a bit smaller at 5x50 and also started slow. It was, though, better tasting and the retrohale was particularly pleasant. I would buy this one again.

Two classics, Pepin Blue Original and Padron Londres. Still are both solid smokes and I’m always glad to have them.

Those last three Padron, DPG Blue and MB3 are all solid and ones that I go back to. I am so ready to get back to more constant warmer weather and regular time to sit out side with some of these old friends.
Did get in one of David Ortiz's Big Papa cigars last night. I didn't expect much but it pleasantly surprised as a very good cigar while out walking in the neighborhood.

Agreed!!! The Cigar Authority podcast sang the praises of the Big Papi recently. Another winner... RoMa Craft Aquitaine.
