The Shape of Things to Come?

Post by Stewmuse » Thu Sep 06, 2018 8:38 am

We got in a few new cigars from Plasencia at the store yesterday, including some attractive shapes and sizes. Like this one. More pics and info later...

These would make my mild OCD very happy with everything sitting flat and not rolling around in the humi screwing up the label directions.

That is absolutely beautiful. Report back on the experience of smoking them too.

Shape is a gimmick in cigars. There was perfectos and box (square pressed) cigars. Extreme square pressing resulting in the wafer looking cigars Rocky and Acid put out. Alec Bradley put out a cigar that was triangular. The soft square press popularly used in the Oval of San Lotano.

Are new shapes cool? Yes. Do they change the flavor of a cigar? No clue. Can they affect how a cigar smokes? I think so. The shape shown will actually round out as it heats up leaving the smoker with something not quite round and not quite angular.

Just my 2 cents

That "Gordo" is the default rank for someone with between 250-500 posts. It's one of the vitolas that designate our progression....and I hadn't ever come up with a specialized rank for you. Congrats. You just got one :P
