Tonights Delights.

Montecristo No.1 POS Jul '11

Wow, these last 2 have made me rethink another purchase. Start mild, but the flavors were all there. Builds up slowly and really shines at the finishing 20 minutes.
Had to have a splash of Maestro while watching the Oilers blast the Sharks.Image

Well, perhaps it was the weather or just a good mood, but both of the cigars I had last night were awesome. First was Perdomo Champagne shown above, which I was just wanting to finish from a disappointing 5-pack, and then this. This Essenca was simply beautiful from the start. Perfect size and draw with no harshness while still being flavorful. Awesome.

Another beautiful day for a cigar and some Spanish learning. Just 8 more sections in this app (Duolingo). Kip, is there an advanced version to this or did you find another app to use?

More yard work, so another cigar is in order.

Mind. Blown.
And here I am DMing for my family D&D night while you all strategize on the computer...Image⚔️
Good sir I got recruited into a Pathfinder game 2 nights a month by an old high school buddy a few months back. Fun times though I enjoy what I have played of 5th ed as a system better.

Also.. how fitting that my 100th post be about tabletop gaming instead of cigars even though I partook in both around the same time in life lol

I found a different app. It's called ISLA - and entailed 3 hours per day, every day for 12 weeks at their institute here in Santiago. That and the "trial by fire" method of relentless frustration from not communicating well.

Seriously, the app was phenomenal for learning vocab, and provides a jumping off point....but without real world practice EVERY day with other speakers, I was a lost cause. I absolutely do NOT subscribe to simple full immersion. I meet folks who've been here years and not learned anything except how to locate other English speakers. Getting out and embarrassing yourself thousands of times is humbling but very effective.

Part one of Easter: The accompaniment to my girl's family towards Long Island. As I was smoking it, the burn became wonky on the highway (fixing it while driving is not the best idea, but it had to be done) -- should've dry-boxed it overnight. Image

Part two of Easter: One of these things is not like the other and she let us know. After-meal festivities: I had the Melanio, of course. I gifted the Padron and Super Ligero to my girl's cousin and brother, respectively. I thought the Ligero was going to put my girl's brother on his butt; surprisingly it did not. I was hoping he would retrohale it, but he did not (he tends to swallow the smoke just when you're supposed to blow it out the nose, and his facial reactions are probably the funniest I've ever seen when he starts coughing and spitting all over the place). Image

Great Easter. Hope you all enjoyed, too.
