I saw a wisp of mold on this in the store. I bought it anyway. I like 'em that much.

My other purchase today was two more singles (1x Habano and 1x Maduro), from a new (to me anyway) company called SevenSevenCigars. I'll report back later, but 1.) this Habano wrapper was breathtakingly gorgeous and 2.)the first few puffs are pleasantly spicy - moreso than I've come to expect from many Dominican cigars. I have no idea where these are made, or who's involved. If they turn out to be pretty good, I'll investigate...

Started the day with a couple of corona offerings from casa trompeta, while commuting, but I need a bigger dog for the evening's festivities.

About to fire up the second of the SevenSeven Cigars. I thought I'd bought maduro, but it's their Sumatra.

Both of these cigars have had a *marked* aroma. Significant. Bold. Meaty and sweet like Kansas City BBQ. It's the craziest thing ever, and I have zero clue why. I've NEVER smelled a cigar like this. The closest approximation is McClelland's VA-based pipe tobaccos. They'd never say what part of their process creates the aroma, but it's very distinct.

As a follow up, the SevenSeven Cigars were good. Well above average in terms of construction and flavor. HOWEVER, they are strong as balls. Each required multiple sessions because I was too big a wuss to smoke it straight through....

This is in no way meant to denigrate the flavors of the many Cuban cigars that Zed has the good fortune to smoke, but does anyone else feel that the actual appearance of the wrappers and, sometimes, shapes are often quite poor? Is this a new situation or just how things tend to be? Just curious...
