Pour Gas, Strike Match...

If any of you are on Facebook, check out Skip Martin's latest post about gimmicky cigars. I posted in a moment of absolute tobacco rage. I, essentially, agree with what Skip's saying but thought it wise (at that particular moment) to point the finger at the consumers for the heart of what Skip was complaining about. I have a feeling I just lit a fuse on the door to the internet troll hideout...

....if the market demands crappy cigars, are crappy cigars the new "good"? What determines quality in such a product? Convention or tradition? Market share? How does real innovation play into the equation (versus marketing gimmickry)?

Hoofta! Saw that today as well. I think there's a place for gimmicky sticks in the market, but in the end they have to taste great to hang around.

It's like what you and Craig were saying in episode 116; I think the motivation behind the gimmick is more telling then the actual gimmick.
