While I was subjective to the matter because I owned a cab of SS2s I still didn't get what all the fuss was about. Yes they were good but the other vitolas were equally so. I don't think any of them in the past 12 or 13 years were getting superior tobacco to the other. The Black Princes were milder but that didn't necessarily mean that they were less flavorful. The Punch Punch's were more whiskey like and not as rich as the SSs but when on their profile was just as satisfying.
Give them another try. When you get a real star, you'll know it. They are one of the great sticks that that marque has to offer
By no means did I dislike it, I just didn't have a momentous occasion. I do like them once in a while, something like San Cristobal El Morros. The flavor is just not in my preffered palate area most of the time. I would still take it over about 70% of the cigars out there for sure.

Last nights Delight.
Placeres Reserva Toro
I was given this as an example of something smooth and not spicy. It turned out to be true. Would recommend it.

Headed to my buddy Geoff's house for a cigar. Prepping for the evening with a preliminary stick....

Tonights Delight.
H Upmann Sir Winston May '14
Holy shit-balls Batman ! This is why they are so sought after and loved. For such a young cigar, it was super smooth and rich. The finish ramps up to deliver a blast of rich flavors too. I am glad I didn't pass these by. Can't recommend enough !

Rather enjoying a(nother) 858 Sungrown. Since I've posted countless pics of that cigar, I'll just give you the weather report...

Here's one that'll mess with you, zedman. 77°F with chance of snow flurries. With our forecast low at 58, I'm pretty sure it won't stick :)

It has been hovering around 10C (50F) almost all week. That is unheard of 'round these parts. It has rained twice, hard, in the past week too, which is abnormal. Wierdest winter weather this year, ever.

Last nights Delights.(at the herf)

1- Partagas EL 2014
I wanted to try these to see if they were box worthy, but alas, the price is just a bit steep for just another Partagas. It did have a richer flavor profile than an 898, but very reminiscent.

After some wings on the pellet grill, with home made sauces....oh hells yeah !

2- Reinaldo Corona Gorda
These are growing on me fast. I am really liking the finish. Glad I have a couple for aging.
