A bit of a noob regarding Padron and Fuente.
Have a good opportunity to buy a box on the cheap of either brand and wondering
what you guys recommended. excluding the 1926 and 1964 or the high end fuente, Opus or the anejo.
I enjoy the short story and the padron delicias maduro which is nice.
both are the only cigars from these brands that i'm familiar with.
Thanks!!!!

Oh man. It really depends on what "cheap" means. Good Padrons are easily available for around $5 normally. The "good" fuente selection in that price range is smaller. You might want to consider the Fuente Don Carlos line or a Sungrown wrapped cigar. I love these from them.
Regarding Padrons, if you decide to go that way, I highly recommend the thousand series as a can't miss line. Best of luck! You'll enjoy either.

Excluding the higher end of both manufacturer's catalogs, I'd personally go with an 858 for the money....in this order: Sungrown (if you can get them), maduro, then far distantly the natural. I'd skip the candela version altogether. The Sungrown Double Chateau is very good as well, and readily available...and I sometimes like the Cuban Belicoso.
For a bit more money, I like the Fuente Don Carlos also.
With Padron, I'm not largely familiar with their offerings. But, excluding the Aniversario and "special" lines, that pretty much leaves the -000 series.

I also enjoy the Padron 1000 series and the londress, and the Fuente rothchildes maduros are nice too.
